Community Involvement
Helping the Community We Fight For
At MAS Law, we strive to better the community around us. We encourage our team to explore their passions and fight for justice in all aspects of life, not just the court room. To promote this advocacy, MAS Law hosts a variety of community initiatives. There are many who are unable to advocate for themselves or in need of assistance: cats and dogs at local rescue facilities, unhoused people seeking shelter, less fortunate children, our planet, and so many more. The team at MAS Law is determined to do their part to help those in need.
MASter Teacher
Our shareholders and staff have benefitted from the experience of dedicated teachers and attribute their success to the committed educators in their lives. Oftentimes, teachers must dip into their personal funds to purchase items that allow them to teach as creatively as their minds will allow.
In an effort to support those creative and dedicated educators, MAS Law has developed the MASter Teacher Award! Each month, one educator nominated by the people of the Dallas-Fort Worth area will be awarded $1,000!
The Winners
Managing Shareholder and Executive Director, Sean Modjarrad, has dedicated his career to speaking up for the underdog. “Being a mouthpiece, being a person who advocates for the person with no voice, that is important,” Mr. Modjarrad said in a previous interview. Through his exploration of film, Mr. Modjarrad has turned being a “mouthpiece” into a passion that others can experience and enjoy.
His current project, the 2021 limited series The Winners, examines the legal system and injustice in the form of comedic satire.
2020 Sucks: The Movie
2020 was a year filled with unexpected and unprecedented challenges, and Gary misses the first 345 days of it. How would you explain to someone what happened in 2020? Up and coming screenwriter Nolan Pugh captures the tumultuous year of 2020 in a thought provoking and smartly humorous way. 2020 Sucks: The Movie is a must watch and an instant classic from award winning director Brent Duncan with superb acting by Kerry McCormick (Stacy) and Michael Dooley (Gary).

Our Charitable Causes
-
Canned Food DriveMAS Law plans to give back to the community with canned food drives throughout the year! One in eight people in America face food insecurity and MAS Law wants to help bring that number down one can at a time.
-
Furry FriendsIn May of 2021, MAS Law was visited by four furry friends – the MAS Cats! These four kittens were abandoned near our Richardson office and the team at MAS Law came together to help find homes for all four kittens and to cover their medical expenses. In order to help more animals in need, MAS Law will organize a fundraiser for local animal shelters in 2022.
-
Toys for TotsEach year, MAS Law hosts a Toys for Tots donation drive to help spread the holiday spirit to less fortunate children. Toys for Tots is a not-for-profit organization created by the US Marine Corps with the goal of spreading hope and cheer to children during the holiday season. In 2021, the team at MAS Law collected 20 toys and 35 books. We hope the number of children who smile each holiday season grows with the help of our annual donations.
